Workplace Safety is a digital chemical inventory and chemical management system from Netpower Business Solutions. Bring safety data sheets, risk assessments, substitution assessments and exposure recording together, and give employees access to chemical information where the work is done.
Three core needs. One system.
Module
Chemical inventory
Products, safety data sheets and storage locations — searchable for the person standing at the shelf.
Module
Risk assessment
Assess chemicals and work activities using the safety data sheet as a starting point. Document risks, controls and responsibilities.
Module
Exposure register
Record exposure linked to employees and work activities. Let employees view their own records.
A good fit if you …
HSE professionals need to know which chemicals are used, where they are used and what needs attention. Workplace Safety connects the documentation to day-to-day chemical handling.
- Keep safety data sheets in binders, shared drives and email
- Cannot tell whether the sheet in the inventory is the producer’s latest version
- Need to document risk and substitution at inspection
- Must keep an exposure register
- Have several sites, departments or projects
- Need the right data sheet on a phone, including offline
What you get
- Follow up revised safety data sheets – receive a notification when a new version is available and review the changes before updating your inventory.
- Prepare documentation for audits and inspections – find risk assessments, substitution decisions and exposure records in one system.
- Less manual SDS work — pull from a library of more than 20 million data sheets.
- The right sheet on a phone — QR at the store, offline when there is no coverage.

What Workplace Safety does
Modules you can use together or on their own. The system reads all 16 sections of the safety data sheet and makes the content searchable in your inventory.
Do you need to create your own safety data sheets? See SDS Creator.
Module
SDS database
More than 20 million data sheets. Upload your own PDFs — they are digitised automatically.
Module
Substitution
Compare alternatives, assess suitability and risk, and document why you replace or retain a chemical.
Module
Projects
Link chemicals and work activities to projects. With HUB, the organisations involved can share chemical information.
Feature
Labelling and QR
Labels to GHS and CLP. The QR takes the employee straight to the data sheet.
Feature
Mobile and offline
Runs in the browser on PC, tablet and phone. Offline syncs when the device is connected again.

Questions and answers
Questions about chemical inventory and implementation
How does Workplace Safety keep the safety data sheets up to date?
Workplace Safety checks continuously for new versions of the safety data sheets in the global SDS database. When a new version becomes available, you are notified and can add the updated version to the company’s chemical inventory. The company must also assess whether the changes affect risk assessments, protective measures or working routines.
Can we move the chemical inventory from our current system, Excel or PDF?
Yes. We help transfer safety data sheets, chemical lists and storage information to Workplace Safety. An existing location structure can be brought along, and PDF files can be digitised and imported. The migration includes a quality check of the data. What can be transferred automatically, and what needs a manual check, depends on the data source and the quality of the content.
How do employees get quick access to the safety data sheets?
Employees can use Workplace Safety in the browser on a phone, tablet or PC. You can create QR codes that give direct access to relevant chemical information, and place them where the chemicals are used. Access can be adapted to different roles, so employees find the information they need for the work.
How does Workplace Safety support Norwegian requirements for a chemical inventory and chemical HSE?
Workplace Safety brings together safety data sheets and documentation for risk assessment, measures, substitution and exposure. The solution supports keeping an overview and making relevant information available to employees and at inspection. The employer remains responsible for the content being correct, for the assessments covering actual use, and for the necessary measures and training being carried out.
Can we manage several departments and locations in the same system?
Yes. The chemical inventory can be organised by the company’s departments, locations and areas of use. User access is adapted to roles and tasks. That makes it possible to structure the chemical information by where it is used, while the HSE function keeps an overview of the company’s chemical work.
Can we bring chemical inventory, risk assessment, substitution and exposure into one solution?
Yes. Workplace Safety offers these functions together with reports and project work. Risk assessments can be linked to the chemical inventory, a measure can be given an owner, and exposure recording produces documentation tied to employees and work operations. Which modules you should use is decided from your needs.
Do you also offer a solution for the oil and gas industry?
Yes. Netpower Business Solutions offers ChemCenter as a separate solution for chemical management in the oil and gas industry.
