Exposure register
The exposure register gives an overview of employees who have been exposed to hazardous substances or processes, for example carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic chemicals, asbestos, rock work, biological material or radiation.
Exposure records for long-term documentation
Exposure to chemicals can be hazardous and have immediate health effects. Even more important are the long-term dangers: illness and injury can appear several years after the exposure. That is why the Norwegian Regulations concerning the performance of work (opens in a new tab) require certain businesses to keep an exposure register. The register is not only a documentation requirement, but also an important tool for preventive work, surveys and risk assessments. It gives employers and employees a complete overview of exposures in the workplace.
